Re: 4.80 Balance Observation Thread (READ RULES OR BAN)
I've always loved that in mine craft, I can feel like I survive on my own without the presence of other NPCs in the game. However in the latest releases, I must find a village to make progress. So to me that is depending on other (nonplayer)characters to satisfy my hunger for progress. I'm probably ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.80)
Oh my god. The stratamining thing, my friend at school had that Idea, he implemented it in another mod, and I was like yeah I'm gonna do that for my add-on for better than wolves too, but I am super lazy and then you did it for me. Is it okay to say I love you?

Re: Speculating on BTW's story and narrative.
For a while now, I have always thought of minecraft, and especially BTW as a sort of post-apocalyptic game. The player spawns alone, and that was the best part to me, everything except the villages were abandoned, so to me something happened to make them leave. As the player, you have to survive wit...

So I am grounded (only a couple months till I graduate) and I can't really play this yet, or update my server yet. And all that I have to say after looking at the spoilers is:

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone
Also, DIGITAL REDSTONE! just kidding. Redstone is currently digital, actually. Technically I guess. But when I think of digital I think of specific signals(reacting to different off on cycles) being sent through I/O am I correct in that being the definition of digital? If I am then redstone is digi...

Re: Creative freedom in BTW and Minecraft [design discussion
I have been privately working on my own BTW addon for a while and I have to say, I agree with this post in the sense of things that are obstructing game play, but things that make it harder are definitely more fun. For example, when FC added hardcore villagers, I decided that instead of diamonds mak...

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone
I am a proponent of the simplicity that redstone has been built off. Comparators are cool enough, but if they get in the way of the simplicity at all I think they should be obliterated. However if they don't, they're just something that I may or may not use.
Also, DIGITAL REDSTONE! just kidding.

Yes, when you are a nomad, do not Return to Home because you have no home. Eventually as you progress into the tech tree you are able to Return to Home

Well i have ended up eating myself on a bad hardcore spawn so... I think thats a yes? Yes, and hence the potential exploit there I'll be soon correcting :) Not really the kind of stories I was hoping to hear though, as perverse as they may be ;) If I am correct, couldn't you make players drop a spe...

Re: How to avoid the "Do you want to update MC?" screen.
You can also edit the %appdata%\.minecraft\bin\version in a text editor and change the number to "1363862534000". This is the file that Minecraft uses to determine if you have the latest version. That number is the unix time stamp from the time that Minecraft 1.5.1 was released. Whoops th...

Re: How to avoid the "Do you want to update MC?" screen.
Yes, this is due to the version number being stored in the "version" file in "bin." Basically, whenever you update it rewrites to the file, but does not rewrite when you manually move around files (because it can't). So technically, if you want to avoid the problem that Flowerchi...

Yeah my buddy got a lime green one on my server. However, because he is a genius, he sheared it in the same pen with the other sheep and killed it thinking it was a plain white sheep.

Re: Which is harder: Desert or Tundra?
I say tundra. Normally the first thing that I look for when I start is a desert, I don't live in it, just near it. They have so much stuff to easily loot: Spawners, Villages, Pyramids, and I seem to find them all the time. Plus windmills work 100% of the time there. Plus if you're really lucky, you ...

A great field to start in is right past the forest, there's a desert with a Pyramid and a spawner right there, and as you keep exploring further and further, there's lots of villages and Pyramids and so much stuff.

Re: [WIP] Unamed Addon: Hardcore fire and Soulforged Bronze
I think the properties and possible role of soulforged Bronze plays auf big role in determining where in the tech tree it should be placed and how hard it should be to acquire it. So far I only saw the super enchantability as possible property. How do you want to go about that, considering FC plans...

Re: [WIP] Unamed Addon: Hardcore fire and Soulforged Bronze
There is no issue with the higher tech. I think it would be good to have another high tech material. The issue is that the process is too similar to SFS. If it still required the tech near steel, but was made entirely differently, then it would be much better. Yeah now that I think about it, you ha...
