Re: Cool Life on Mars video

I'm describing by approximates. They are likely to share some traits with earth creatures. So when I say insectiod I'm referring to exoskeletons, primitive or no internal organs, mammals: warm blooded, complex organs, live-births or reptilian: cold blooded, complex organs, egg laying. They almost ce...

Re: Cool Life on Mars video

We may even find homo-sapien-like creatures on other planets because we are a very versatile shape for advanced movement, like throwing spears or building huts. I wouldn't expect that intelligent life would necessarily be housed in a primate-style body type. Just look at how many different body typ...

Um....color me noob or whatever, but why do you need string? I find I get enough for bows and fishing rods while wandering around...Am I missing something? I am only in the early game (pre-mob trap) and it'd be nice to know how useful string is before I get it built.

And secondly, why don't more gamers stand up against this BS? Video games seem to be the only format where this is acceptable, I mean, if you bought a red shirt a month ago and you go to put it on, then all of a sudden the manufacturer decides to break into your house and dye it blue because they t...

Ok...the last tech support I can offer here :P Are you: -Using a 1.5.2 jar file? -NOT using modloader? (doesn't need any more) -Taking the BTW files OUT of the folder labeled MINECRAFT-JAR in the BTW zip? -And NOT taking the files out of the MINECRAFT-SERVER file? Installing mods with the new launcher is a bit different than with the old one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XlqIgfX_RyA This video shows how to install mods in the new launcher. Substitute where he says optifine with BTW. See if that helps. If not, then please provid...

Re: Clay ball recycling builds? [SPOILERS]

The BTW method of upward transport is an item elevator using a platform and a pulley. I haven't yet made one but that's my go-to. I'm not sure that would work in this situation as we are working with solid blocks, and the platform/pulley system doesn't work well with them. I think pistons are likel...

Re: Best use for early game pistons.

If you have wheat in the early game, something is wrong... Off the top of my head, I think you'd largely be limited to automatic reed and Hemp farms working on a timer for harvesting. why a timer? why not just use a lens, a redstone dust BUD, and a pulse stabilizer, all you need is nether access, a...

Re: Best use for early game pistons.

Early semi auto egg farm? Use the pistons to drop pumpkins/melons from a smashing height near the chickens. It's only as reliable as you are there to get it though until hopper stage. Or I guess just use it for easy pumpkin/melon harvesting... Failing that there's a mob-botherer :P roof---- You[ Air...

Hardcore spawn at night?

I thought that code was changed so that on a single player world when you HCS you spawn at dawn? I've tested on a few worlds, but on version 4.8915 when I die I respawn at the time of death.

Can anyone else confirm?

Food supply isn't necessarily a huge deal so long as you think about more...compact ways of transporting livestock across the nether.

I've seen this before, and I'll repeat what I said then. It's already enough of a pain when you drop your phone and the back goes flying off one way, and the battery goes another...imagine the fun of having basically 52 pickup you entire phone.

Re: Hardcore Buckets Option removal discussion

The only real reason I can see it being useful is for aesthetic builds using lava since there's no other way of moving that shit, and it can be nice in certain builds. However that in and of itself is hardly a good reason to keep it optional. I was actually quite surprised that HC spawn went permane...

DISCLAIMER: I have never done origami and am terrible with anything fiddly. I say this because it is the longest continuous line and other stuff seems to per...

Yeah, the more I see of future vanilla updates, I think the more appealing an option sticking with 1.5.2 is becoming. There's some huge benefits to just sticking to this version and doing with it what you want. I don't foresee a future where vanilla adds a bunch of awesome stuff you want BTW to pla...

Boats & oceans

This is something that has bothered me for a while. With boats you can traverse huge distances with minimal hunger loss, there's little to no hassle from mobs (so long as you have a little distance on them) and there's no real risk to using them aside from the occasional squid bump. Oceans are easil...

And for a jungle big cat, I'm never scared of them like I feel I should be. First time I saw one I was cautious and slowly approaching it, sword drawn.....and it ran away. Actually that's totally realistic. Real-life big cats will almost always run from a human unless cornered. ...not that realism ...
