Re: How do you light up your base?

netherrack.
no seriusly lol, i used them in the throneroom on top of pilarry things.

for underwater: glowstone or pumpkins if i'm short on glowstone.

for my really really over designed places, redstone lamps set in the ceiling linked to a centraized circuit that runs around the complex.

Re: BTW and Adventure Mode

well you could try moving any redstone wiring away from the walls abit to limit the usefullness of that, or reverse the signal, or add in 'and gates' or 'nor gates' so if they do say try breaking a lever for something, it could trigger a permanant shutdown/activation of the system. maybe finding a l...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

can i point out something people i don't think have considered (or at least not mentioned) about mobs being scared of tracks.. mob spawner with minetracks across the spawnable area... the mobs will move off the tracks fast and ... well fall into whatever monster killy thing has been set up. unless t...

Re: Light it up? Or blow it to hell?

you could build your base at bedrock, then all the stuff from farms/ mobspawners you can channel down to your base...
just a silly suggestion.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

... is it my imagination or that block only sending redstone signal 9(?) squares? looks like it might alter its output value during the day, if so that pretty much is the first block i know of with a lower strength signal.

i guess their serius aboput altering redstone.

Re: Electric power for powered minecart

with later BTW teck youl be able to make extra redstone, that and after a day or so of exploring deepcaves i tend to end up with chests of the stuff. as for gold, thats easy once you set up mob farms in the nether. extensive minecrart railsystems are actually positively encouraged with better than w...

Re: Electric power for powered minecart

your silly,

the simple answer is redstone.

lookup redstone on blacklcats thread or youtube. powered rails pretty much replaced any real use of coal powered carts. but.. vmc has hinted at re visiting the minecart and updating it. i think several btw updates tweaked the system slightly as well.

Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Now with 95% more filtering!)

wow that smart piston, vid, has well reduced the amount of space and redstone in my next project greatly, thanks, thats a very interesting and sneaky idea. its basically going to be a grand clock built into a house, but that smart piston idea means i can well, get rid of alot of redstone and timing ...

Re: First time user, possible install error

some world seeds seem to favour diferent animals, i did have fun though getting chickens to my base, i had to travel 2 days and nights though forests and deserts to find them... then bringing them back was just as fun, i had to wall myself and them in a few times until it was safe to travel again......

musing on RTH

with your new project RTH will you be able to get past alot of the restriction encoded into minecraft and allow you a far greater freedom of block behavour and ideas? I was just considering this as minecraft is an ongoing growing program i;m guessing alot of the underlying code is pretty intergrated...

they seem to be targettiong the 'no means no' banners, just swap to one of the other banners.

report here though which banner was removed, if they start targetting other banners, well it will give everyone here a good reason to report confront the moderators about well.. abusing their power.
