Re: Block Destruction (mining process?)
I suppose that would solve the immediate problem right out but it still leaves me with the necessity of going to each individual BD to remove that stone. I guess the final product I'd be hoping for was one where I could grab the stone out of a single chest or chests. Also, how would you control whi...

Re: A way to raise water
Don't try to figure out the programming. It's obvious you never looked at the water code, as it is very different from what you seem to think. What I suggest is a block that always makes the height of any water on top 1 unit higher. That simple trick would allow you to flow water infinitely, in aqu...

Re: he's doing it wrong
The only difficult part was balancing the final trap piece so that it didn't fall down right away. Otherwise there's slots to tell you where to put all the darn things, so I don't see how anyone would have had problems setting it up.

Re: A way to raise water
I honestly figured it'd just be easier ( I don't want to talk about coding) to have it be a source block, as I don't know how (if) you'd place a partial water block and have it keep flowing. *Edit* I hadn't thought about this before, but it being a source block would be bad, because you could just r...

Is most of automation really worth all the work? Not really, but it's awesome.
Also, according to a few posts, mobs tend to stand still a lot more, so the output of mob grinders drastically decreased in pre-release 5. Just something I thought I'd share.

If we had a way to generate sand the way we do cobble, it would help. You can, if you lift and drop sand really quickly with sticky pistons you get a bunch of sand items. Bug abuse :S to me it's kinda the same as the lava + redstone = obsidian bug. Legitimate would be far superior. Well, seeing as ...

Re: A way to raise water
My take on this would be a pump that doesn't extend water infinitely upwards. I'm thinking more of, not really a pump, but a "water extender" device. This device would need to be mechanically powered (from the side or bottom), and would act like a sort of "water bellows", hell, m...

Re: The block dispencer's memory
This would probably be really useful if you want timed water spurts, since you don't have to have a timer connected to another memory cell to block water, or allow water to flow, for certain time periods. But I'm not sure it's justified, since really the whole reason FC added all the colored wool ha...

I think that would be a fundamental change.
No, but seriously I'm excited because of how excited FC seems to be about this exciting new feature. Excitement!

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree
I think it would be interesting to be able to place ladders on the bottom of blocks, and use them jungle-gym style to traverse gaps in caves or mountain underhangs. It is what I thought of first, but I would have added the function to the vMC ladders to begin with. Why not just place your ladders, ...

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree
That's not at all what he was getting at. The OP wants easier ways to travel, not to navigate.
Seems like he wants easier:
-Vertical movement (we already have elevators for that)
-Quicker horizontal movement
-Tools to help you ascend and descend unexplored cliffs/caves

Re: Soulshaper
Honestly I think the best idea that I've seen was speeding up the time flow of things around it. AKA, it makes plants grow faster, or perhaps animals mature faster. The reasoning behind it being (in my mind) that the souls are somehow accelerating the growth process of the things around them. This c...

Re: Soulshaper
Don't be so quick to judge an idea that's recovering from a thread de-rail. Why not, say, contribute? You say the proposed block should do "One to three different things tops" - that sounds fair. Any opinion on what those things should be? how broadly do you define things? etc etc etc. No...

Not to dump on your parade, but this seems like a mod all its own, and not really something that would easily fit anywhere into BTW. I think perhaps people are taking the whole souls thing a little farther than it needs to go. Honestly I think if this block did one to three different things tops, it...

So how did the aqueduct fill up with water without you using any buckets. Or am I missing something obvious about the water fix? It also looks great compared to my hole in the ground. The Utopia rules say that you're SUPPOSED to use a man made source, but then channel it. Doesn't say anything about...
