Wow a response while I was editing ! :) as you may see I have a design in mind to share tonight:)
Do you see my point? The hopper being filled doesn't signal that the minecart is full--- ohhhhh! I see now!!! The hopper can only fill when a minecart is full too!!! Gotcha! :)

Re: Help with Auto cart loader
IIRC a powered rail won't move a cart unless the cart is already in motion or there is a solid block behind the cart, so you should be able to use a block on a sticky piston to trigger the rail. Actually this is true, I have used a system that abused this for a very long time. Of course mine uses a...

Great design man! I had the same idea with the BD on a turntable. Unfortunately I'm trying to make mine waterless and well ... :/ Also a design I frequently use for stream splitters uses a vanilla dispenser on top of a block with a torch on the side on a turntable. You can control how many streams y...

This is possible on vanilla, though I've never tried tiling it. Look up RS NOR Latch in the redstone mechanism section of the minecraft wiki

Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Illogically Compact!)
Good job on the tutorial video man! the only thing i can think of to say is that if you introduce a pulse extender to the pistons it vastly reduces the loss in such systems. Another option is to do away with the Buddy block and put an extra piston in front of the detector with no hemp beneath it so ...

Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Illogically Compact!)
You know dawnraider you could use a small reed farm to drop a reed onto a pressure plate. When the item decays a piston automatically breaks a reed plant and pushes a reed item onto the pressure plate. It's really quite simple and can be extended with repeaters if you want to customize the exact tim...

Re: Compact reloading wheat farm?
Okay I'm officially an idiot.(EDIT: This may actually be true) While screwing around with bonemeal I realized that my whole elevator set up was completely unnecessary (and lame because of the way I took advantage of HC buoy without HC buckets). I realized that using bonemeal and grass planters it is...

Well However I do like it a little because it avoids the trouble you have with other animals when trying to lure them: "does it still follow me?" Yeah... I might try to make wolves follow more closely but having not inspected the actual code yet I am not yet sure what is feasible given FC'...

Re: Better With Wheat, Add-on [Exploratory Discussion]
Oh god... Wheat is an automation NIGHTMARE already and you want to make it more complicated? This would make automated modules utterly untileable due to the requirement of a reliable stream splitter BEFORE it hits an elevator... I'm usually good at minimizing automated devices but this is. Just... I...

Re: Noir's Designs and Videos (Illogically Compact!)
Yeah, I've tried that but the problem is that it's actually not possible to put a hopper ontop of the sapling placer without severely affecting the growth of trees. This frustrated me enough to make a creative solution in the suggestion sub-forum. (also, blood wood doesn't suffer this problem, but f...

Now that I look at that though there is a lot of extra redstone in my correction of DR's module, I'll try and minimize it. EDIT: I did it! As compact as physically possible and its even cheaper than before! here's the design: http://i.imgur.com/65JIj9w.png The block dispenser has a slab and stone in...

You forget that a buddy block will detect the detector block turning on AND off, causing 2 pulses and wasting a seed.Husbag3 wrote:I don't know if I'm missing something but can't you just do this:Just encase it wasn't clear, it is a detector block on the end of the piston.SpoilerShow

Re: Compact reloading wheat farm?
Tried recreating that one, it wasn't working properly :/ http://i.imgur.com/lAqjF1T.png Yeah, if you look at it closely there are two reasons why this doesn't work properly and a third issue that affects this design. The first problem is the detector block sends a DOUBLE pulse to the buddy,(this is...

Automated charcoal farm problems
So I recently constructed a rather complex overworld tree farm using a sand pusher and some various other bits and prices to move the logs into a, yet again, rather complex tube kiln. when I test the farm with blood wood and manually grow the tree with a soul urb it works fine, the wood goes to the ...
