Wow, that looks amazing. The LOD they've implemented is brilliant.

Procedural voxel terrain (1 man team)

DyybDmt_3_s Only video where he explains his process. This man has been working on his procedural voxel engine for a while (you've probably seen it in earlier versions). But recently he has added some sandbox editing ( minecraft style in cubes of various sizes as well as curves His work is amazing ...

Re: Rpg Verses Default Texture help.

I do agree with Tater that it does look a bit like cobble, but on top of that, I think the smoother texture scales better into the far distances (which are often filled with smooth stone)

Re: Small question on endermen.

From the video that Fodder showed us I'm going to say its very likely that they can teleport onto vinetraps, since they can teleport onto signs and open fencegates which have identical physical functions to the vinetraps.

Re: What to do with my archway

I think a well lit bridge is what the archway needs coming off of it. Protection isn't really an issue for something suspened in the side of a cliff. I guess that is a good idea, I didn't really want to put anything coming out of it because there is already pathways beneath it, but I guess could cu...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.34)

I think it might be fun to have to wade into a mob trap and get your hands bloody every once in a while to generate certain bonus items. The downside is that people would just do it in really boring and safe way, standing behind a bunch of blocks and hacking away, which is just a tedious grind, rat...

Re: What's happening with the BD and Wheat

I personally thought that the reason no one ever posted builds using this was because the BD is inefficient at harvesting wheat as it didn't pick up the seeds and as such anyone who did use this method was missing any opportunity to keep this going on ad infinitum (I remember reading in one of the a...

Re: What to do with my archway

The size limit on Platforms shouldn't really impact it. It just means you need more Pulleys to lift a larger gate. Do you perchance mean that I can just attach many anchors to the top of the gate to pull up a bigger gate? Or is it more complex than that, with divisions of the gate and whatnot? so i...

What to do with my archway

So I saw a little area in the side of my mountain which looked like it would fit an archway perfectly. So I built one: http://i49.tinypic.com/2rw269l.png But now I've realised I don't know hot to keep it safe. At first I thought a pulley system would work but I found out about the size limit so that...

Re: Design Discussion: The Nuking of maps

I kinda like maps, but do agree that serving as a gps they feel rather crazy, there is no way anyone is that good at looking at a map. if they [...] mapped instantly, and were harder to obtain, then they'd both be unable to serve as a GPS, and still work as, well, maps. Although this does make them ...

Hibachi is powered, no matter what direction the redstone is facing.
So shouldn't the first hibachi be powered in the picture here? (I have a feeling the direction does matter for this one again, because it was powered when the wire was facing the hibachi.

Re: Difficulty powering the Hibachi

I want to be able to turn them off easily with just one button to press (or a timer/detector) rather than constantly on or off
(planning on eventually having a flame based trap like you would see in classic 3D platformers)

Difficulty powering the Hibachi

Image

One set of wire is running under, one is running next to , and one is just touching the hibachi.

If i remove the side wires the one touching the hibachi at the same level works, but I was sure that all 3 of these ways should work.
Could anyone help me out here?

Re: Zombies can pick up arcane scrolls?

That's a pretty cool feature, (I read that all zombies that spawn with the ability to pickup always drop all their items) Automated zombie transport systems anyone? :) All you would need is some way to feed zombies into a system 1 at a time, and then using the fact that you can pick up items through...

Re: Rain Rain Rain

I think it's less of a change to the rain mechanics, but an perceived increase because it suddenly makes a difference, and cant just be shut off by lying in a bed.

On my world I regularly have long periods of rain and then very long sunny periods.
