To add to what Warr1024 was saying, you can also use the newly zoom-able/grid-snapping maps to get a rough estimate of large distances. Since the largest map will span 2048 blocks by 2048 it can help you align these portals roughly without pacing it out. Then you can divide or multiply by 8 as normal.

It's always great to see another BTW update come out. Thanks for all the hard effort you put into this mod! It gives my life something interesting to look forward to when things get too dull and I just want to play with a saw.
