Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Not doubting the concept- just mojangs ability to properly implement. Being realistic is far from being negative.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
I agree seasons would be a very cool feature, unfortunately it would probably mean FC would have to fix it.

Re: Anyway around a Lighting Bug?
if you do half slab outside the door block for door and half slab inside it works fine and gives the inside a kind of entry way instead of just a wall with a door in it.

Re: Anyway around a Lighting Bug?
use half slabs of stone grass or what ever the material you used for the path leading to your front door on the exterior to bring the interior and exterior to the same height.

Re: Question about nether portals
Thanks for the great info- it will come in handy while i figure this mess out. EDIT: So I got my portal issue fixed, the portal from my base dropped me on an island approx 20 x 20. If my calculations are correct I should be in the same general area as my first portal so ill build a bridge and hopefu...

Question about nether portals
While I was out exploring I built I nether portal about a minecraft day walk from my base I wanted to use nether rack as markers in the dessert. The portal dropped me right on a fortress bridge. When I got back to my base I built a second portal which sent me to the nether portal at the fortress. Wh...

Sweet - I am very excited about the new release! One question tho... while you were pretending to be a typist where you wearing a skirt and heels? Nah. I always prefer to just program in a thong. Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of March 18th)
WOOT! After about a week of staring at the code totally in the dark as to whether what I was doing would actually work or not, I was just able to run BTW for the first time under 1.5!!!!! :) From a surface level inspection, everything appears to be working fine, except for the things I knew would b...

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone
I for one never play vanilla- only reason I play MC is because of BTW. Based on what I have seen of Mojangs additions to the game, this new red stone thing isnt going to be spectacular. I would prefer that you (FC) did what ever is the best thing for the mod and not worry if there is a significant d...

I had this same issue; However, if you install BTW without using MCpatcher the config file works as intended.

I too would like to see mob trap designs in the nether and the end as I've never built one in either place.

I played wow for about 5 minutes several years ago. Frankly after playing Everquest for several years WOW was just way too easy. I used to be a big fan of MMORPG not so much with the advent of Free to play. So now I just stay away from them.

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion
I'm not sure I like the direction that could be going in... lol. Don't get me wrong I like the play on the mechanic, I'm just picturing people overhauling defenses to be composed of chicken/cow bait boxes and and array of cats. Skeletons aside, it's like a passive creature force-field. It could be ...

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion
I wanted to share a story about something that just happened -- I don't think it contains any spoilers, I'm posting here just to be safe. Apparently, during the night, a sneaky creeper hopped into my nether portal. I didn't realize this until I popped into the nether and heard that awful hiss. That...

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion
You know, that remark really makes me feel something is off about the game. "Oh noes! Zombies break down my sturdy wooden door, so I'll just replace it with this flimsy, mostly open-air gate and I'll be safe!" I agree It does seem odd that Zombies dont break gates/ trap doors and villager...

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion
Well I really didnt see settling and building without crops as feasible; However, after giving it an honest shot. My first task was to "herd" a few cows into a pit, which I covered and added a trap door for access. I then finished killing all of the wildlife in the general area. While chop...

Re: 4.65 Balance Observations and Discussion (SPOILERS)
Fucking spiders- the first web I saw was shot at me. Very surprising and makes spiders a mild PITA. Downside IMO is spiders randomly shooting webs around the landscape even when not attacking/chasing player. This seems like it may become an issue in mob traps. It also adds a requirement for spider ...

Re: 4.65 Balance Observations and Discussion (SPOILERS)
- rewrite no point in stories - Chasing a herd of animals for food was very cool and lots of fun. Seemed a little food intense at first but never got near starving. Its a great mechanic for actually herding animals instead of having them chase their favorite food. Fucking spiders- the first web I sa...

Re: 4.64 Balance Observations & Discussion
I used my lava pool to light my stairwell to bedrock as mentioned above- its a very cool effect. As far as using netherrack for lighting i use it now because I havnt made it far enough in the tech tree to make the nethercoal. That said, in light of the new changes I have set aside an area specifical...

Im down here building a dirt path while my son is some 50 blocks above me working on his "sky castle" suddenly an arrow strikes the ground beside me. I look around in confusion as it is daylight, then I here my son laughing as a second arrow strikes my head a third arrow nearly kills me. h...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of March 18th)
Trial update looks great. Obsidian in the Desert temple was a great idea. Cant seem to find any other changes in the temple though. Will look more carefully. The abandoned villages not having water in the gardens was a pretty nifty twist. I kind of expected to find there were just no villagers. Curi...
