Thanks for moving this, went with the safe option of Off-Topic just in case.

Re: BTW: The life of Minecraft.
I'm actually surprised Jeb's admission included the fact that he knew he was adding fluff that didn't extend the game "but people are very happy about it." Perhaps there IS a game designer in there but while "people" are happy with new mobs or animals there is no need to introduc...

Storage Categories
I recently put this together for myself and thought it would be worth sharing. I looked online for some ideas for storage categories but they were very vague and certainly didn't take BTW items in to account. With the help of the Hardcore Buoy article from the wiki, and Mason's BTW Systems Flowchart...

Re: My texture pack mix (32x)(Update 1.4 - 4.34) Gimme Blood
4.34 :) Pigmen should be fixed too. Still no clue on how to fix Spiders or Enderman though :/ I found this on MCF: Link And this from Planet Minecraft: Link Finally, a quote from the wiki: When using a custom texture pack, Endermen will be bright white overlapping their texture. This is caused by t...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.34)
Really looking forward to catching up tonight, I'm a few releases behind due to a rogue heatsink :( The insight we have been given from various threads (especially The Dev Diaries and BTW: The life of Minecraft. ) is fascinating and highlights the broader picture that is being pieced together each r...

Re: My texture pack mix (32x)(Update 1.4 - 4.31)
Another way to fix the endermen/spider texture bug is to enter a world using the default texture pack, see one of the aforementioned mobs and then relog with Batto's mix. Thought this may help in fixing the issue. I am using HD Font, HD Textures and maybe Better Skies but I can't confirm. I'd also l...

Re: The reason why BTW is amazing (My World + Systems)
I'm not particularly good at aesthetic builds, as you can see from my pictures. I'm definitely open to some wall design ideas though for that. Hard to say how many hours, it's been a lot by now though (even ignoring some AFK), probably my most worked on world ever. I've generally just built though,...

Re: The reason why BTW is amazing (My World + Systems)
I'm glad you've updated us Mason. I saved a copy of your flowchart and have been using it as the basis of my automated systems. It's brilliant. Your builds seem to be coming along nicely. I did presume the octagon would be a little more aesthetic but maybe those will be additions you make at a later...

Endgame Dilemma
Hi guys, I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment. I am at the point where I am ready to kill the Ender Dragon and "complete" vanilla. I've become very attached to my world and killing the Ender Dragon seems very final. I believe phase development is due to begin again soon and I'm wonderin...

Re: A request for feedback from server operators
I have the most basic level of paid server hosting and have had issues using several mods with an average number of performance hogging entities. As Morv also mentions, I notice a significant performance hit as the server/world is generating new chunks. On the same server running BTW I now have the ...

That certainly doesn't mean we should stop eating due to its long-term futility. This also opens up the debate about the meaning of life and what our purpose is. May not even get started on that one, purely to avoid religion cropping up. Any solution is temporary of course, just like it always has ...

I don't think it's in any way possible to get humanity to slow down though, so I personally view space exploration as being one of the few viable "escape hatches" from this scenario. Would this theory not simply extend to being able to wipe out space colonies providing technology progress...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 8th)
I have some plans for zombies in particular that I think will make them much more interesting without unleashing total havoc. Zombies will soon be able to hold weapons that they pick up. Who's saying it has to be weapons? Imagine if a zombie picked up or spawned with a shovel and could dig under th...

Re: Allow doors to return components with Saw.
Doors are a pain in the ass to store given they don't stack. Agreed. Thanks for considering. This bit I can understand. Although this same property of not stacking at all would also make them a pain to break down with a saw... Personally I never really understood why they don't stack. I find minecr...

Re: Allow doors to return components with Saw.
It's not that I'm hard up for wood, there is just no way to recycle the ridiculous amount of doors I no longer need after relocating my golem farm. I noticed there was a way to cut fences in to corners and this suggestion echos that feature.

Allow doors to return components with Saw.
My suggestion is that doors return some wood when cut by a saw. Currently the door is broken in to it's item form when placed in front of a Saw.
As there is an efficiency recipe for the wooden door and iron doors return 6 iron bars when smelted I believe this would fit perfectly.

Re: PvP vs. PVE
The only thing I would like is for Mojang to make nametags completely invisible if you're crouching behind walls (or maybe even if you're not crouching?) so that being snuck up on and assaulted is a serious threat. I read this the other week. Tips #14 and #15: EDIT: Link to the article - http://min...

Re: Silverfish and the End
I have an answer to that question coming in the not so distant future ;) Mojang seem to be doing a good job of accidentally adding features that flesh out the backstory behind many of the things that inhabit the Minecraft world. If I may speculate, I'm gonna guess this means we'll suddenly find our...
