Re: Unofficial Suggestions List

I'm sure airships have been suggested multiple times, but now that we have a bellows, I'm envisioning a pretty cool new use for them: Build an air-bag out of fabric and tanned leather (new use for both fabric and tanned leather), and build an airship gondola out of a boat, a steam engine, and a wind...

Re: 12 hour clock, timable to full minecraft day

good job man... could you tire to build an binary-clock that also shows minutes? You mean one that displays time in binary, so 12'o'clock is 1100 in binary, or do you mean a clock where the internal mechanism is a binary counter? Or, do you just mean adding a minute hand to the clock? Adding a minu...

12 hour clock, timable to full minecraft day

I got excited by the idea of being able to make an accurate clock in Minecraft, so I built a 12 hour clock using the turntable to clock a double series of piston-driven bands that output to a clock face built using light blocks. I just took a few pictures. I used TaviRider's World of Redstone as a t...

Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW

Finally figured out how to get a second launcher going. Now I can have multiple versions of MC with different mod sets without having to switch around the .minecraft folders every time I want to play with different mods. Don't know if everyone has already figured this out ages ago or not, but if an...

Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW

You can create a page on the wiki. That way anyone can contribute. http://sargunster.com/btw/index.php?title=Compatibility_List&action=edit I'll port my list over, probably at some point later today... Anybody know of an automated tool to reformat from BBCode to Wiki? Hmm I kinda suck with wiki...

Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW

The following mods are 100% compatible, if anyone is willing to list them: TehKrush's Timber mod Epinull's sound mod enabler Scokeev9 tools mod Divisor's smart moving mod Based on the mod description, it looked like Smart Moving might interfere with rope climbing. Unfortunately, it does, but I stil...

Re: Open Design Discussion: Turntable

If you're considering editing timing of the turntable via a tile entity, I'd suggest allowing for a fairly wide range of values, unlike just four like the redstone repeater has. Not really, as the blocks have a very small data limit - 4 bits I think I heard. Rotation has to be stored, so loose two ...

Re: yq.class and jq.class removeable? (for finite water comp

Finite liquid works with BTW, although finite water doesn't work with water wheels and there are some conflicting blocks that need IDs reassigned. I'm not sure what got changed with fire, but it seems to work okay - if you install finite water over BTW, hibachis generate fire, and fire heats up iron...

If you're considering editing timing of the turntable via a tile entity, I'd suggest allowing for a fairly wide range of values, unlike just four like the redstone repeater has. Also, the first feature that popped into mind was to use the turntable to drive a clockface, but I don't see it happening ...

Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW

no i does not work.... the following mods were installed BTW toomanyitems Mo creaturs. I thought mo creatures didnt work because it messed with the wolves??? It works with these mods too: - Fossil/archeology v3.5 - Extend Boat mod v2.02 - Balkon's Weaponmod v5.2 - Piggrinder v1 :D The Piggrinder is currently topping my list of most ridiculous mods... "Oh gee, let's install a meat grinder in a pig and have it spit out dozens of porkchops while it ru...

Re: Unofficial mod compatibility list for BTW

i do not believe that mo creatures is compatible with the 1.7.3 version of BTW i get a black screen every time i load the two mods together I just tested it for a bit and it seemed to work fine, although I didn't try *everything*. Use a clean install and make sure you follow the directions. There's...

Has anyone tested industrial craft? Not that I really want to use them together, and only just saw a video for it so not sure I want to download it at all, but would be good to know. I used to play with IC before I switched to BTW (they're supposed to be compatible if you use Minecraft extended but...

Re: BTW and Nature Overhaul

Traditionally these two mods have always been compatible, however, since nature overhaul has added long grass spreading which uses the ru.class file, they clash. To resolve this it is critical that you install Nature Overhaul first, then BTW. This will remove the long grass spreading functionality,...

Well, that's what we get for buying a game that is still technically in beta. Hell, I got it in alpha, and there were already loads of people who bought the game before me.

Really, though, it's been awesome watching the game evolve.

Re: Interesting Programming Pretest

The issue with the sample question is that it's based on human-invented syntax that could easily mean something completely different if you haven't been taught what the syntax means in a programming situation. If a=10 and b=20, then a=b is a false equivalency and doesn't fly algebraically. If you we...

Re: Is there a mod compatibility list for BTW?

can anyone confirm this working with 1.7.2 because I dont want to mess up my save but love the above mods Haven't double-checked yet, but More Creeps and Weirdos and Mo' Creatures have 1.7.2 versions. I'm not going to add Xie's or Millenaire to my list yet since they're still in 1.6. I'm near-certa...

Re: Blithen's automating stuffs

For killing mobs, I use lava - lava travels 3 blocks, and it doesn't burn ladders. So, you can have a blade of lava sitting on top of a ladder s that a flow of water can push mobs into. This will kill spiders too because if they go up, they go into lava. Items don't usually drop into the lava either...

Re: Mod causes minecraft to freeze

Out of curiosity, what could have changed between 1.7.2 and 1.7.3 that would prevent interoperability? I seem to recall that some mods that are still designated as 1.7_1 still work with 1.7.2. Is this because of differences in code obfuscation of classes that BTW calls or overwrites in the recompile...

Re: Is there a mod compatibility list for BTW?

CJB's ModPack works. This is a collection of cheats and other mods which can be disabled if you don't "cheat" or limit your cheating: X-Ray, Fly, in-game Inventory Edit, Mini-Map, etc. And, it has an awesome HUD! I haven't tried the latest 1.7.3, which adds various pressure plates and thu...

Maybe change this into a list of mods that "work well" with BTW, enhance the game but don't venture to far from the vanilla feeling of the game. I would also suggest splitting them up into different sections like - gameplay mechanics & performance boosters. Also links to the mods woul...

Re: Is there a mod compatibility list for BTW?

I doubt the necessity of this thread the only mods that are incompatible with BTW are mods that overwrite the same vM classes. In some cases you can even let out a certain btw class for reduced compatability. Like with fb.class having something to do with detector block functionality in 1.6.6 (i th...
