Re: 4.AFFFFFFF - Animageddon Spoiler Thread

I love how the world feels a bit more alive with those changes. Animals aren't just "lying around", waiting for zombies/spiders/me to consume them; no, they're part of the world too, and they're going to eat or die. Goodbye to those cows, sheep and pigs kept in holes "just in case&quo...

I've been playing since 1.3, I think. I started because of Hardcore Bone, always hated the way bone meal works in vMC.

Nice! Thank you for the release!

Excited for the new aesthetic blocks, including non-carved pumpkins. (Plus the new localization capabilities.)

That's a fair point.

Maybe he's just being cloned, and even plain humans would create a space-time aberration around them when sent to MC's universe?

On lapis scarcity and coloured dyes: what about Prussian blue? Coal powder, nitre, potash and iron in a crucible. I think that, as an interesting off-result, people would use blue things to sign they're so wealthy they waste iron painting stuff. (Plus that "there's iron here to grab!" feel...

Re: Who (or what?) is Steve? Why is he here?

Good... evil... what matters? Power is beautiful, and nothing says "power" better than the sound of agonizing souls. If souls had heads then Steve could crush them with his boot, but since they don't... My headcanon for BTW is that Steve isn't quite human, but a magitek-engineered being bu...

Are we dealing with the same Steve?, or is "Steve?" a race of identical clones, and when one dies another is sent in his place?

A few pieces of stained glass would be very nice. red/yellow/blue, from redstone/glowstone/lapis in the crucible orange/green/purple and cyan/magenta. I thought about this in the past, it would be cool if we used metal nuggets plus other reagents to stain glass; like gold for red, iron for green, o...

Re: Form vs function in early-mid-late game

It... depends, really. It's more a matter of "will I rebuild this?" than actual stage of the game I'm in. For example I prioritize aesthetics for my first windmill and mobtrap a lot, since I see no reason for rebuilding them afterwards. On the other hand my first cauldron and saw don't eve...

Wow, the new interface is amazing! I know this isn't a feedback thread, but I love how easy it is to see the available trades, and when they give the villager XP or a level up. The arrows only popping up when the trade is ambiguous is also a neat detail. Thanks for the release, FlowerCh... -Fixed pr...

Re: Chicken Coop ideas?

n(n-1) for collisions as Katalliaan said makes more sense, the nth chicken adds n collisions/tick. So it slows down the computer a bit more, but not by much. While n! would make (n-1) chickens perfectly fine... and the nth multiplies the calculations by n , suddenly your computer becomes a puddle o...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Just build and fuck with shit. I can see why kids like it though, it reminds me of when I was a kid and I loved playing with legos, there was never a point to legos. Pretty much - "survival" is just a legacy name for a toy pretending to be a multiplayer RPG built on a voxel engine, and an...

My main base is usually the spawn. I automate everything I can there. My secondary bases are often around resources I can't/won't move (biome-specific mobs, villagers...). Even in a well-developed world, most have only basic stuff: Power source - windmill or waterwheel Smelting area - stoked cauldro...

17, actually. 18 next week. A 10% error is 110% acceptable! :) I think it's important to realize that people were always like that, we just recently gave them a direct line to creators. True that. But man, that "direct line" makes a whole lot of difference... Yeah, fair enough. Maybe I'm ...

Do you mind if I ramble a bit? Weeks later and the community is still whining against Vazkii... and I'm still laughing. And still facepalming, since stupid arguments like the one Gilberreke quoted are sadly too common in the modded MC community. “What players want is most of the times not what is go...
