Re: BTW Appreciation - Passing The Hat

Hey, since it's my birthday I'm sending you a little something as a gift.
That's how birthdays work, right? :P

Re: AI War II

It's unfortunate that they couldn't reach their goal for this Kickstarter. I know they will re-launch with a more modest goal (using the data from this one when it's over), but I wonder what will be cut to make that happen.

Re: AI War II

So, for those with more kickstarter experience, how do you know if a kickstarter like this is doing well? Can you tell early if it's gonna succeed or do you have to wait until the last 24 hours to really know?

AI War II

Been a long time, but I decided to drop by for a special occasion. One of my favorite RTS, AI War, might be getting a sequel! I know there's at least a few RTS fans around these parts, so I wanted to share the news. I say "might" because they're using the kickstarter method, which you can ...

Re: Neo Scavenger

Ah, I did have quite a bit of fun with the demo last year, but the resolution and font were kinda weird for me, so I didn't go much further. I already have enough eye issues without adding more strain in the mix. By the way, the game has a nice discount on it for the next 10 hours on GOG, for those ...

Re: The Souls series

I always considered the Souls series very interesting, especially since I love boss battles and they got plenty of those there. Unfortunately, they're not for me. I just can't stand the slow pace and the focus on waiting for your opportunity. Bloodborne was much closer to a pace I could enjoy, but t...

Re: Game Design - Incremental Games

Well, this thread convinced me to try Clicker Heroes earlier today. I was under the impression that all those games were heavily focused on spam-clicking with only minor passive damages for when you would let the game open for auto-farming purposes hours on end. Pleasant surprise to learn that it's ...

Re: Buying Steam Games Outside of Steam Store

Meh, I'm always wary of key resellers. Doesn't help when I see threads like this pop up.
Plus, some Steam games can't be backed up, so if they pull them they are just gone.

Re: Arcen Games in trouble, again

I agree. I didnt even knew they launched another game after The Last Federation. With a budget of ~200k spending on budget would have been creepling to develpment but Youtube and Twitch are really effective and cheap marketing tools and I saw no movement on those. They have a pedigree it should not...

Re: Arcen Games in trouble, again

If you like or at least don't mind bullethell and ever enjoyed Binding of Isaac's gameplay, this game is a gift from the heavens. The different bullet patterns and enemy behaviors will keep you on your toes for sure. And who doesn't like a mech that can stop time? :)

Warhammer games at GoG

Just a quick heads up that GoG just released some ancient Warhammer games, which don't seem to be available on Steam. I know there's some Warhammer veterans around these forums who might be interested since it's not just another dlc for DoW2. :P - WARHAMMER 40k: CHAOS GATE - FINAL LIBERATION: WARHAM...

Yup. The whole thing is already gone as we can read here.

Seems they decided the benefits weren't worth having a constant shitstorm. Back to the drawing board for paid mods... for now.

Re: Monetized Mods

One question I'm wondering about here is whether or not any of the profit is kicked back to the original game developer. Anyone know? Yep. Not sure of the exact numbers, but the cuts are supposed to be something like 25% for the mod author and the remaining 75% being divided between the game dev an...

Re: Monetized Mods

I think it's a great way to create a clear cut divide within the community and promote conflict / underhanded practices. Apart from that, it really depends on how the modders themselves handle it. I read one saying he'll just release his mods a bit earlier on the workshop with a price and then for f...

So what are your favorite memories? That would be the original everflowing waves of cement of doom. That stuff was hilarious. Also, the birth of the cauldron block. Sniff! So beautiful. Showing Better than Wolves to my half-brother. "Is that a pot plantation?!" Priceless! And finally, eve...

Re: Salt (Early Access game) question

Let's see: maybe I'd give it ten hours or so beyond the demo (which I played before purchase as well) before the content feels exhausted? Hot damn, that's pretty good! It's a bit more than my optimistic guess. And reading the dev's blog about where he wants to take the game and his thoughts on some...

Salt (Early Access game) question

I was basically looking for a game like Wind Waker, but without the whole "assemble the Triforce and beat Ganon" business. A slow-paced game about sailing the high sea and exploring countless islands in a colorful world, supported by an exploration-based progression that would make it all ...

I was particularly disappointed on the performance front, like with this: -image- The game turned into a slide show, and my vehicle there isn't really that complex, only having the saws and 4 wheels as moving parts, so it seemed to be the basic armor plating I put on top to deflect arrows that caus...

Re: Better Than Starting Manned (Flower's WIP KSP mod )

That video was a pretty neat introduction of what the mod is like (and for me, what KSP is like in action). It looked pretty damn fun actually. Those missions/contracts I really like too. But that one guy in the comments complaining about linearity... The whole time I was thinking "The author i...
