I think the only thing I dislike about the trip wires and such is that almost everything that can be done with trip wires can be accomplished with the detector block. It makes me cringe every time I hear someone use a tripwire to automate something where I would use a detector block. A great example...

Coffee shop hot spots are such a nice little thing. Gates, if you are still offering, I would appreciate the help. You can keep all the cobble you collect, and any trees you chop down. For anything else, just stick it in a chest infront of my base. Oh yeah, you can have any mob drops in the hoppers....

Well, if it would make you feel better, I am willing to tear it down. The only thing I'm really proud of about it would be my skylift that comes right down into my base. But that stupid thing has killed me more than any hard core feature while I've been on that server, so I've kinda grown to dislike...
