Re: Gamemaker: Studio Pro (humble bundle)

I have the exact same story. I tried out RPGMaker, and I was excited to actually build a game. But, it eventually put me off for the same reasons. Thus, I avoided GameMaker. Wish I wouldn't have.

Re: Gamemaker: Studio Pro (humble bundle)

Yeah, I've been following them myself. I'm pretty grateful to the guy for providing them, and I feel that (without really knowing for sure) he's throwing all the really big tools into the basket quite quickly. There's a lot of flexibility in the stuff that he's doing such that a person could achieve...

Re: Gamemaker: Studio Pro (humble bundle)

I can echo Daisjun, here. I bought it. It seems fully functional, and though there is some hoop-age to jump in order to get all of the licenses registered, this does appear to be a full pro copy.

Re: Hardcore Spawn Difficulty

I think it depends on your level of skill, of course. I also think it really alleviates a lot of the world restart syndrome that some folks have (which was a major obstacle to progression and, I believe, FC's vision of the game), and some people see the challenge as very fulfilling once overcome. Bu...

Re: Stardew Valley

If you are the sort of player who enjoys Harvest Moon, it is a really great translation, in my opinion. The thing I like most about it is the pacing. This is not a game that one can or should rush through. The upgrades come relatively slowly, compared with other titles, I think. The player's land is...

Gravity Waves Detected

Amazing. Cheers, Einstein.

In short, two black holes merged, and we detected the gravitational waves. As some folks have expressed interest on this board, I thought I would post this for everyone.

Ah. Misinterpreting for sure, then. I thought you were starting a new world as in no more original world. I was thinking 'Who is this guy, and where is FlowerChild?'. :D

WHAT?!? O.O

Is that a new development in the BTW epic, or did I miss a verse somewhere along the way?

Quite off topic, but I think it says something about the legacy of the mod that when I see these three letters I think 'Better than Wolves' just as quickly as I think 'by the way'.

Empyrion was really exciting for a bit there, but once the spawn planet had oxygen, I found myself ju...

I (and probably a few others on this forum) received a 75% off coupon for WH40K Dawn of War II. Thing is, I already have it. If anyone is interested in giving the game a spin and would like the coupon, PM me. It looks like the resulting price would be $4.99. EDIT: This is for the STEAM version, just...

Distant Worlds is on sale for half off. Understand, these guys rarely ever discount like this, so grab it if you have any interest in a complex space opera. Who knows when it will discount again. They didn't for the holidays, and that's pretty much their speed.

Re: Monetized Mods

The entire thing is melting down. The community absolutely exploded. Loads of drama. What is shocking me is that the mod authors are getting a motherload of hate (like more than I've literally ever seen). I thought Valve would take the brunt of it, considering the split and conditions, and that woul...

Monetized Mods

Some interesting discussion is happening about monetization of mods in the Elder Scrolls community, sparked by this post from Dark0ne: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12444/? Gopher, of whom I'm a fan, has a video on the topic, as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pfLJwH0zc0 I tend to agre...

Lol. Wasn't saying that the implementation of hardcore modes was close to the beginning. I started close to the beginning. The memory I chose to relate was shortly before the implementation of the hardcore modes. Not sure why it was important for you to 'one-up' like that. We are just here sharing ...

Re: BTW Mempries as 4 Year anniversary aproaches

I started with BTW near the beginning. Back before the implementation of most hardcore modes, I would think about designs for my machines all the time. I would use my breaks at work to jot down some Redstone circuit or machinery that had been rolling around in my brain that morning. I would get home...

I still use this with a lot of games, but most notably Bridge Commander, Starpoint Gemini 2, Evochron Mercenaries, and others. Bridge Commander is especially good at giving me that starship captain feel, and I really look forward to its fanmade successor, Excalibur.

One of the things I enjoy most about DF is that the world builds history as I play through different fortresses. Does this game have that functionality or is it more like one offs? Will I be able to return to a colony to reclaim it? I had pretty much closed up my gaming wallet for a while, but now I...

I tend to agree with Saru. Post-nervous breakdown and follow-on depression, I figure he's probably trying to do what most insanely wealthy people do: buy distraction from whatever haunts him.

'Course... we all sort of do that in one way or another... :D
