Re: [1.5.2] [4.89] Biomes O' Plenty 0.0.7 - BTW Edition

My understanding is that since he uses only vanilla blocks, it shouldn't ruin a save. But if you uninstall the mod it will use vMC gen for any new chucks. Making weird world boundaries. How will the now-absent biomes act, though? Would they fall back to some default like plains or would funkier stu...

Re: [1.5.2] [4.88/4.87] Biomes O' Plenty 0.0.2 - BTW Edition

First of, thanks for giving us the opportunity to use Biomes O'Plenty with BtW. A change in scenery sounds tempting enough that I may in fact start a new world now. That having been said, I do have one question... If in the future there are custom blocks from the Forge version added however, then th...

Re: Show us your builds!

damn Stan, I would love to see a temple that complements that statue ;) Patience, young padawan... I only arrived in the end yesterday. Give me some time. I actually have some rough ideas of how to integrate that statue into a building, but first I'm going to need to better secure spawn if that dam...

Re: Show us your builds!

At long last, I got around to paying the enderdragon a visit and I may have overgeared myself just a wee bit. When the fight was over, I still had several pillars intact, so to commemorate that fact, I tore down the shortest one and turned it into something a bit different. http://www.bottledindigo....

Re: Early-game mountaineering

The point of this thread is that, as far as I know, you are still interested in hearing about things that feel off in the game. This felt off to me. Currently, the only unlocked thread on the subject of balance is about jungles and I wasn't about to hijack that one, so I created a new topic. As for ...

Early-game mountaineering

Now that things have mostly stabilized, I figured I'd pit my skills against the early game as well and see how I would fare. All in all, I'm pretty confident I will survive, but my world seems oddly devoid of surface-level caves, so I currently spend my time trekking around in search of iron ore. I ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.83)

-Removed the ability for animals to respawn. What you get on chunk generation, is all you'll ever get now, and if you exhaust the animals within an area through over-hunting, the only way to find more is to move on. Are Ocelots included in that list? Last time I was in a jungle, I spent quite some ...

Re: Show us your builds!

Woo... took a bit of digging to find this thread again. While most of you were no doubt surviving, I opted to continue building as I still hadn't made a succesful HCB base yet. I settled in a swamp and got to work and I figured I'd just show some (preliminary) results. When building stuff, I general...

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread

And no, I won't name it. That's part of the point of it not having a name :) All things nameless will end up named sooner or later and in this case "dire wolf" seems to stick. Anyhow, you gotta admit that "the nameless horror" doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily as "...

Re: Better Wolves Spoiler thread

BTW: Who says it's called a Dire Wolf? Could've sworn I saw a screenshot at some point that mentioned "killed by a dire wolf" but I can't find it anymore. Must've been dreaming. If it has another name, I'd suggest using that name now or people will just stick with the dire wolf thing and ...

Re: Boats in normal biomes

Hey, If you want to travel far, far away from spawn and set up a base without leaving much of a visible trace of the path you took... have fun. Actually, as long as you keep the coast in sight, it's really quite easy to find your way around by boat. Only if you randomly sail off to the middle of th...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of April 29th)

Let's see... you do have a bunch of ghastly pillars standing around here and there, but you already took care of that :P If I had to guess, I'd say the minecart station where you arrive could be a good hint. You've mentioned adding functionality around chest-minecarts before. It wouldn't be an early...

Re: How-to: early game mushroom/mob farm

Correct me if I'm wrong there and anyone has a huge mushroom production facility they'd hate to lose, but I don't anticipate it being a major issue. Probably would break my current mushroom farm (unless you want to be driven insane by spiders), but it should be refittable for the most part. Just ho...

Fair enough. I'll refrain from further comments on the hardcore bouncing until I've played some more with it. Well, I did say "discourage". It's still possible to be sure, just requires a *bit* more thought, and you'd be surprised where that rises up and bites you in the ass. Remember: it just became twice as hard and resource consuming. From my experience with my play-through, that does indeed m...

Thank you for making ugly pillars dotting the landscape impossible to build without actual effort and planning. Effort and planning? All you need to do is place two dirt pillars next to each other and hop back and forth between them. Costs a bit more dirt, but well... if you're going to leave the p...

Don't have much to add to the balance discussion except that iron ore really loses any and all appeal in the later game, even moreso than coal used to be. It just becomes one of those "out of the way, stupid iron ore, I'm mining cobble here" kind of materials >.>

Re: [4.69] Destruction Overlay Doesn't Display

Not all blocks seem to be affected. Grassy dirt and logs behave fine, for example, while cobble, stone, dirt and planks don't.
