Re: Camouflage.
Lol, totally forgot about the floating names. I probably should have made myself more clear, what I had in mind was rendering the player as a 1x2 stack of bricks, because editing the skin texture still leaves you with noticable shoulders/legs etc. But yeah I guess it's over ambitious, thanks for th...

Re: New Release! (BTW V3.71)
Great job on this update! I think switching it so that item form cobble no longer gets blasted into gravel was a great idea. I was already coming up with plans to explode a chest's worth of cobble into gravel, but in hindsight that would have been pretty unbalanced.

Horizontal Chest Item Addition
Sorry for the odd title, I couldn't really think of a better way to phrase it. Anyway, I think there should be a way to add items to chests the same way hoppers do, just I would like to do it horizontally. This would be great because you could completely hide your hoppers, and would also be an aesth...

Re: How are you setting up XP automation?
TaterBoy, your chicken grinding facility is inspirational. So inspirational, in fact, I may try to build one of my own. Just one question though, since your main breeding room is steadily growing, do you ever have problems with massive chicken related lag? It seems like you could end up with a LOT o...
Re: Starforge
I agree, this seems a little to ambitious to be real. It kind of builds everything everyone daydreamed about into a game, but then later realized it wasn't technically feasible. Even if they did get this working in single player, I have no idea where you could find a server that could maintain an in...

It's gorgeous! But I think you guys are right, whatever game uses this game will be just like Crysis in that it will be the trial by fire for whatever pitiful, not next-generation computer that tries to run the game.

Re: I am opposed to automation. Is this wrong?
I also personally like automating things in Minecraft / BTW because it cuts down on the amount of "chores" you need to do. I mean, sure, you could wait around your pottery wheel while it spins out two thousand urns, or you could spend some time building a shiny urn factory and let it make ...

Re: Zombie Shovels?
It´s one of the "rare" mob drops. You can also get a iron pickaxe, or a helmet... zombie= iron stuff. skeleton= bows, maybe even with enchantments (low level) zombiepigmen= gold ingot, gold sword and gold helmet Zombie Pigman can also drop enchanted stuff as well. I got a shiny enchanted ...

Re: Hardcore: My love and my hate
I do like the idea of being able to die in hardcore without your world being eaten. I mean, to get a BTW world to the top of the tech tree takes two to four hours, absolute minimum. And that's just if you have an ugly stack o' blocks with a windmill stuck on top for mechanical power and a large crat...

Re: Something I found Amusing on YouTube
My personal theory (for which I have zero substantiation...just a gut feeling): She isn't a she. Just like people play female characters in MMOs to get free stuff from male players, pretending to be a female modder would allow you to get away with murder. I've also got to agree with FlowerChild her...

Re: Having Trouble with 3.6 Install
Try this EXACTLY: 1. Back up your saves and delete the .minecraft folder. 2. Run Minecraft. 3. Re-download BTW from the MCF thread. 4. Re-download Modloader from the MCF thread. 5. Open up your Minecraft.jar with 7zip. (Sometimes WinRAR is buggy.). 6. Delete the META-INF folder from your Minecraft....

Re: Having Trouble with 3.6 Install
It looks like you might be adding BTW to the mods folder, not the minecraft jar. Or maybe (as said above) not using the CONTENTS of the MINECRAFT-JAR folder. Nope, I dropped the files into the Minecraft jar. And, as I have mentioned, the fresh download did not seem to contain a MINECRAFT-JAR folder...

Re: Having Trouble with 3.6 Install
Did you put the entire rar in or just the folder Minecraft-Jar? I assume you are asking if I just smacked the rar straight into the jar, which I didn't. I dragged and dropped all of its contents into my jar, like normal. The only different thing was the lack of folders within the jar, which is what...

Re: Having Trouble with 3.6 Install
All right, I tried one more install with a fresh jar, making sure I used all of your idiot-proofing steps, a fresh modloader, and a fresh BTW straight from the MCF. It crashed the exact same way. One thing I noticed, though, is that the fresh file from the mirror MCF links to doesn't have the folder...

Having Trouble with 3.6 Install
I've just tried to install BTW 3.6 onto a squeaky clean, just downloaded Minecraft 1.2.5, with Risugami's newest modloader. The game gets to the Mojang launch screen, but then it crashes. It shows an official crash screen, but I can't grab the text from it because it shuts itself before I can get th...

Re: Wolf Rinds?
OK, so here's the deal, right? Wolf rinds are a special drop you get some times, when you kill a wolf. It only happens like 1 in a million times, and only if you kill the wolf by hand using a flaming weapon. Then when you eat it, it transports you to the secret level, where all the secret additions...

Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve
I don't even know how many times I've fallen off a floating axle as I try to put my precious windmill on the end of it. It seems like no matter what, there is an angry mob at the bottom to finish off poor fall-weakened Steve.
