Re: Show us your builds!
I always write it as e^iπ +1 = 0. Yeah, I always thought the magic was that it involved both addition and the additive and multiplicative identities. Things equalling 1 aren't that special: take, for instance, e^0. The layman would think tau*i = 0 which appears nonsensical, vs the mystery of e^(wha...

Re: Show us your builds!
Never! Tau is an abomination. Not to mention in those cases where you do need pi (Fourier series, etc.), having a fraction is more inconvenient than writing 2pi in those where you need 2 pi. I'm a traditionalist. Not to mention it would defile Euler's formula. And my handwritten taus are terrible. A...

Re: Show us your builds!
I am a firm believer that BTW would be the best mod ever made if it only included siding, moulding and corners. The amazingly ornate work it allows is a great boon. This is a fairly fresh world. I spawned on (0,0) and am making a tower of awesomeness on exactly the four chunks adjoining (0,0). Stora...

Re: Beginners' Guide.
Don't worry too much over the grammar and style as you write. I, and I'm sure others, will go over the article to make sure everything is in good shape as far as the mechanics and tone of writing are concerned.

Re: Beginners' Guide.
I had weighed in on the talk page regarding what I am about to say; here I will clarify my opinion on my two major concerns and hopefully reach a consensus. I think a beginner's guide is a good idea; however, it's a precarious type of page to write. My principal concern is that the temptation will a...

Re: Redstone Racetrack Help
If the goal is to genuinely determine which method is faster, I think the best way to do this would be an IRL stopwatch and F3.
P.S. Or looking at source code.

Re: Phase 5?
Regarding uniqueness of purpose of the magic points: completing, say, Phase 1, could alter the nature of the other two points and the necessary interaction therewith. Thus Stronghold points - ostensibly identical before they're worked on - are not necessarily ruled out. After all, phases build on on...

Re: An important hint on what's to come to help you prepare
This thread has made me glad that I pedantically abandon dozens of worlds until I get one in which I spawn on (0,0). Whatever Satanic constructions need be made involving spawn or the strongholds, I am assured it will be geometrically pleasing.

Re: Mechanically powered cargo minecart disgorgement station
I certainly don't see any reason the BD method should be affected by this addition, since nothing about the BD method is minecart-specific.

Mechanically powered cargo minecart disgorgement station
The addition of stewing pot flipping brought to mind the possibility of an explicit mechanism for tipping chest minecarts over in order to free their contents using mechanical power. Some arguments for this addition: - what I believe is the current state of the art in automated chest minecart disgor...

Re: "Anniversary Update" Speculation
Steve, the evil one , the controller , the bringer of suffering to a once pure land, wouldn't abandon what he worked so hard on. Oh no. After all, why would the creatures of this world oppose him so violently if all he wanted to do was leave? No, no, they knew that Steve would exact vengeance on the...

Re: "Anniversary Update" Speculation
A world transformation that turns vanilla blocks into "corrupted" versions might also make sense and account for the new block IDs. I am not entirely comfortable with the idea of a new dimension for the reasons already presented; most saliently, I think, because it would not Minecraft hard...

BTW direct download
I'm currently writing some Minecraft version management scripts, and as part of that process I would like to have a single-command Modloader/BTW(/Buildcraft/BTB) fetcher and jar creator. From what I gather autodownloaders aren't a possibility with Mediafire, and direct linking to the mod by external...
