Re: [WIP][Texture Pack] AnimCraft

i love the idea of this and the ores are really good, the only criticism that i have is the grass looks a bit too mechanical, perhaps a bigger difference in the swaying amount between each blade of grass on the texture would be good. also what resolution is this in?

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

personally i really like the idea of enchantment books but their implementation seems wrong, the idea of getting the enchantment on a book (encouraging cow and reed farms) then applying that enchantment to a tool is cool but the original method of enchantment still remains and it doesn't make much s...

Re: Don't Starve

picked up this game and i have to say it is awesome, i love games that use hardcore/permadeath elements with some form of between game progression also as dying does not feel quite so bad.

EDIT: current high score 35 days

"ghost" items with waterstream drops

in my current setup for automated wolf feeding porkchops are thrown into a water stream and pushed along past them, due to the dispenser setup they often travel along the edge of the water, when this happens however when they reach the first drop (where it is in the picture) they glitch up and down ...

Re: EE3

another problem was the fact that all the items lasted forever, this means once you get the top equipment you keep it with no extra effort save for occasionally charging your klein star in a collector array. compared to BTW where while you keep your SFS from melting down equipment you need a good le...

12w34a snapshot

i was just wondering what your guys thoughts on the latest snapshot are, there were many new features quite a few which i like a lot such as stair corner blocks trapdoors being put on top and bottom and of course item frames. there was also an interesting change meaning that mobs can be pushed throu...

Re: A vegetal source of Tallow

prehaps something that can be mixed with tallow to give you a substitue for tallow in mining charges (kinda like a watered down tallow) so it effectively doubles your tallow but you still need to input tallow and this new resource, perhaps to make it even more balanced the other ingredient will caus...

Re: Thoughts from the nether - Pigmen, redstone and magnets

i think FC mentioned that redstone was where gold had been change by some force from the nether hence the gold+hellfire recipie. as for how the pigmen have gold i don't have much of an explanation for that as gold is absent from the nether so perhaps they brought it with them from the overworld sugg...

Re: what makes a good mod?

I think it would be very helpful if you narrow down exactly what you're looking for from us. Asking a broad question like, "what makes a good mod" seems to be looking for a broad, theoretical statement in response. On the other hand, you're looking for specific ideas for a mod for you to ...

Re: what makes a good mod?

what about a mod that added simple variations on the normal minecraft mobs, it would still fit the feel of the mod as well as adding additional challenge my only problem with this would be that Flowerchild seems to be going to add more mobs for greater challenge but as i am not concerned with this a...

Re: what makes a good mod?

Well, that really depends on what kind of mod you're talking about. There are technical mods (like Optifine, GUI mods for Skyrim and DF, and...Texture packs?) which are different, but if you are writing about "addition" mods, or "content" mods, I think the main things are: yeah ...

Re: Modding Question: Custom Textures

when i last modded (in 1.1) i used mod loader to override the terrain sheet that was used from terrain.png to the one i wanted. but i dont know if forge code changes too much of that, i think it just means that you will never run out of sprites when using that method but i could be wrong EDIT: here ...

i must say the mod looks amazing. the mod looks good and has some really great features such as the research

the part i most like is probably the way he balanced it with the taint, if you mess around with magic and get all the cool stuff there is also a downside in that the world will get messed up

both kinds of torches can now be placed on top of glass (not the sides and not on glow stone or leaves) as glass can not be powered by redstone this could create ways to compact redstone, i have shown some examples in the pic below
