Re: Feeling nervous, how big is IT supposed to be guys?

I have a 10 story mob trap that can gain 500 levels in 8 hours. This has produced about 200 scrolls since 3.8 was released running ~10 hours a day. I am using Optifine as well. If you get Dragon Orbs out of the trap, you should be getting Scrolls as well. The issue is could be that you have the comp...

Honestly it doesn't seem to add a lot to the mod. Perhaps that is a harsh way to say it, but that is my honest opinion.

Re: Proposed Change Discussion: Removing Zombie Iron drops

Yeah, I get the impression that spawner traps are way lower yield than regular mob-farms. As for balancing for afk: that's just not something I can worry about at present. It's not something I do myself except when testing specific features for the mod. If my game is running, I'm always playing in ...

Re: Proposed Change Discussion: Removing Zombie Iron drops

One thing that jumps to mind is baby animals falling into an animal den after birth, which is usually a bit crowded if the adults don't get out quick enough. Though you've also stated before that adding collision damage can be used as an exploit - essentially replacing saws with mobs stuck in a pit...

Re: Thinking of getting a desktop / PC.

I would go with a corsair PSU (same wattage), and a faster graphics card personally, but Poppy's take on most everything is spot on. Like he says, get Corsair ram. Ram is the single most prone to failure item in a PC and no one beats Corsair's customer service, they send you the replacement parts pr...

Re: Thinking of getting a desktop / PC.

@Battosay: Do you game on your laptop? One of the reasons why I am considering a desktop now is my mac laptop starts sounding like a jet engine ... sometimes even w/ minecraft. I would be really concerned with a laptop running something like BF3. I have other reasons for a desktop but I'm a bit cur...

Re: Thinking of getting a desktop / PC.

i5, 8 gigs of ram and the best graphics card you have a budget for. i3's are really junk and an i7 is overkill for most applications. A 560 ti is a decent card for the money, but others will have plenty of opinions on that mater. Buying the computer prebuilt from best buy or the like will cost ~30% ...

Re: Thoughts on mobfarms

Try it with HCB. That makes it rough. Also, it is certainly not much more OP then camping a spawner, not when you consider all the time and effort required to get a high yield mobfarm running. Yes, it trivializes things, but that is the entire purpose of automation. Once complete it should save you ...

3.80 and BTB

Using MCpatcher. Mod order is: ML BTW all 6 BC files BTB deleted .minecraft so the instal is fresh. Just BTW and ML and it runs just fine. Reinstalled 3.7X and still crashed, I had that running last night. This makes me assume the issue is at my end, not some issue with 3.80 and btb. Anyone see what...

Yup, doesn't like terrain control. TC modifies these classes among others. These are modloader classes. Idk if they would effect your code. alb.class vx.class MC will run without TC or your addon, but not with both. There are no class conflicts (obviously) and I have tried installing one mod first a...

Re: SFS armor should trample crops

It my just be my take on things, but if you have the resources for full SFS, you are probably past vanilla farms and on to auto ones. Actually, second thoughts here. My hemp farm isn't auto. It's just long, 3 wide fields with water running in between. I just run along and bat them all down. Its volu...

Re: Sargunster's BTW Addon [v2.0 for MC1.2.5 and BTW3.72]

I would love to use this if I was released as a separate mod. The rest of your mod changes terrain, and I already have a mod that does that. It doesn't play nicely with yours. Is there any chance you could possibly change your mind about your release method? You can disable the terrain gen changes ...

Re: Sargunster's BTW Addon [v2.0 for MC1.2.5 and BTW3.72]

I found a way to disable void fog and particles without touching base classes! :D I don't want to package a separate mod for that, so I'm adding it as a config option in the next version of this mod. I would love to use this if I was released as a separate mod. The rest of your mod changes terrain,...

Depends entirely on the CPU and what the other differences and costs are.

There is no way we can help you unless you post a build log of some sort. I would suggest Newegg.com, and make a "wishlist". You can then copy the urls of all the parts here or another forum and ask for advice.

Sadly it doesn't play nice with optifine. Actually a lot doesn't play with optifine.

Screw optifine, I'll use MCP for high res support and go play with shaders.... Thanks for the reminder Shoegun.
