Re: Frankensteining mobs

instead of classic lightning to activate them or your blaze spawner, what about having them hit by a ghast ball activates them? It seems like an alternative that fits the frankenstein theme very well, and at the moment it's dangerous and takes time. IIRC the latest snapshot lets you craft ghast ball...

Re: Send multiple redstone pulses.

I made this for the same purpose. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg39/scaled.php?server=39&filename=btwpulser.png&res=medium The input signal for this has to stay on from the start to the end however, i don't know if a button stays on long enough for that. You may have to make that pulse a b...

Re: Mechanical-to-Redstone power converter!

A waste of time? For horizontal signals, your method uses only 1 redstone every 4 blocks. Redstone is pretty much the only resource i've ever had a shortage of, and though you can now make redstone, it never hurts to have alternate ways to send signals. And yes the signal is slowed down, but sometim...

Re: Hello guys

1. Doesn't really matter gameplay-wise, though if your pc is slow, having a larger save file doesn't help offcourse. If you move to a new location in the same world, that world grows larger. So if you have performance problems already when playing minecraft you may want to start in a new world to no...

Re: transporting goods from basement to upper floor

Well that is not normal. You are probably doing something wrong in your device, you should give some pictures so we can find the error. If not what says you won't make the same mistake again with any other type of elevator? Item decay is 5 minutes iirc. Long enough for an elevator from bedrock to th...

Re: transporting goods from basement to upper floor

Well platforms moving up carry items lying on top of them with them. So you could dump your items on a platform, move the platform up and then release a water current to collect the items.

Why are your torches going out btw? could you give some pictures perhaps?

Re: Features you feel detract from minecraft?

For me ravines and mineshafts. Sure they look cool and add some feel to the game, but they're a pain in the ass to explore. If you'd only run into them once in a while, it would be all right but they are EVERYWHERE. Stumbling into an area where 4 different mineshafts collide in mid of a cave is not ...

I have them too, awesome indeed! Making the cube again is really simple actually once ytou get the hang of it, start by making a long straigth line. Then fold it 6 times so you get a 6*36 plane, and then fold that plane 6 times and you have your cube again. BTW did you try using them as ear piercing...

The puzzels were a bit easy, yeah, and 'hunt the texture' was annoying too sometimes, but for the rest it was awesome imo. Great humor, great setting, puzzels are fun, voice-actors were superb, playing the co-op with a friend is pure gold, lots of attention to details (co-op robots and their animati...

Re: Buddy block sometimes pulses with saplings

No nothing at all should have updated around the buddy blocks. I tested it in a desert area with nothing at all around it that could have set off the buddy. And even if there was something i missed, i also tested a few normal blocks just to be sure it was only happening to saplings, so if there was ...

Buddy block sometimes pulses with saplings

Buddy blocks that are placed next to a sapling sometimes give off a pulse (as if a block next to it has updated) when they shouldn't (i.e. when the tree hasn't grown yet). I noticed this when testing my tree farm, and this guy here did so to: http://www.sargunster.com/btwforum/viewtopic.php?f=3&...

Re: My piston based auto tree farm.

This all works beautifully when I stand there fertilizing the tree with foul food/bonemeal, however there's one problem: I'm using a BUDdy block to detect the tree growth which works 100% of the time when I use bonemeal, but if I just leave the sapling there, after roughly 5-10 minutes, the BUDdy w...

I've thought about building a sideways pushing tree farm too, but i never got around to building it. It's very nice to see that the concept works. Great job! Re: Dispensers firing seeds as an alternative to planting

well, BDs are not really all that expensive anymore; once you find a spawner, loading the area around it with cobble and coming back after playing for a few hours can easily get you a few stacks of mossy - and that's ignoring automated designs. Soul urns take a bit of an involved setup, but at 1 cl...

Dispensers firing seeds as an alternative to planting

For wheat, i think most of us use a semi automatic farm where the harvesting is automatic but the planting is done manually. Fully automatic wheat farms (auto planting, growing and harvesting) are not that difficult to make, but they are rather expensive since you need a block dispenser for each blo...

Wow, I am quite impressed. Any reason why you wanted to move the piglets every 5 minutes instead of just having 5 chambers which they wait in for 20 minutes? (Not saying it would be better, just wondering what your reasoning to that was) If you want 4 chambers in in which they wait for 20 minutes, ...

Re: Fully automatic pig farm (BTW 3.27)

Nice, i'm building something very similar atm. Instead of having pairs of pigs breed in carts, i just have a big fenced area where the pigs breed, and at 5 min. intervals about 1/4th of the floor opens up by pistons so 1/4th of my pigs drop down, get channelled into aging chambers, and then killed. ...

The idea is simple, a block that when you look at it gives off a red stone signal. Your post is also simple. Way too simple. Why do you want it? How would it in any way enrich the game? Unless i'm missing something, it's nothing but a button that can be pushed from a long distance. If you suggest s...

Re: Was the gearbox ever limited in how many axles it can po

It's 3 axles not 2. But yes that has been like that forever. It's a data value limitation, more than 3 is simply not possible without using tile entities (not an option).
(btw i checked if somehow 3.22 jumped from 3 axles to 2, that's not the case)
