Yeah, what Dave said, 100%. And man, three years. Three years you've been devoting to this. And even though we would all really like to see what you can make of those pesky villagers, I would say we want even more to see what you make of all your ideas that we haven't heard of yet in your very own g...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Put another way, I'm just tired of fighting battles that in no way benefit me, which I think is a common theme that has come up in several threads over the past little while. I just want to focus on my own work and only get involved in fights that relate directly to it. So, you really want to talk ...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Anyways, yeah, for the time being, I'd ask people to restrain their enthusiasm somewhat when talking about game concepts. I don't particularly want to get dragged into this stuff, but when I see comments like "they are capable of doing things right" that I feel obliged to intervene and tr...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Yup...that would work absolutely stellar for any form of automation... or not. You bring up a good point actually, as there is no clue on whether there will be some or none at all. Hum, and now that you mention it, their project seems a lot more oriented towards the RPG part of the game than the sa...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Honestly that bit is what makes MC and this game so attractive. The lack of loading screens. I really do enjoy a game that only has a loading screen when you boot the game. Quite excited to see how the overall performance of this game is. (Max all the things! ^-^/) Yep, that's for sure. It really m...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Then a bit later they said that the game will be multi-threaded (rendering lighting, generation seperatly from other things) Source. They also claim their engine supports long distance travel without any loading time (like going from one planet to another). If this is true, it means that, in my opi...

Re: What's your End-Game Fantasy?
I can see the next patch notes now, 'Hardcore Hardcore'. Do not cheapen what I have with Drew. You're right, a restraining order doesn't come cheap! ;-) As for my fantasy regarding BTW end game, I would say that I don't really have one beside achieving a technically and aesthetically pleasing whole...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Two things struck me while reading through that. The first was that I wasn't really getting excited by a new Cubeworld. The second was that this is going to bring any computer older than a couple months to its knees trying to keep track of that many voxels. Well yeah I fear for the performance as w...

Re: Cubical Drift's Planets^3
Well it's not so much a DLC than a rationalisation of their project in my opinion. They had a game in mind, and realised it was quite the piece, which led them to split it in two parts. On the disclosure thing, I would say that their project is much more appealing that way and gives meaning to the &...

Cubical Drift's Planets^3: Now with Drew Barrymore! (Not)
Hey guys ! A friend of mine posted a link to that kickstarter page a week ago and, well, let's say I probably got way too much excited. The thing is: I still am. This game project seems overly ambitious at first glance, however the Cubical Drift team seems to have understand it and plan to make two ...

Make sure you're using mcpatcher for vMC 1.5.2, which is the 3.0.4_02 version.

On that villagers thing : I would recommend to wait for the "villager update" on which FlowerChild is working. We have no ETA for its release (and neither should we), so it might be a while before you get to villagers, but I think that FC has proven in the past that waiting is worth it ;-)

Yeah this website is very impressive. It's been around since ~2008 in France and was very popular. However, as it's quite "old" now, its database has to be tremendously huge and tricking it isn't easy any more ^^ I'm very pleased to see it pass the boundaries of the (not so large) french s...

And to be perfectly honest, you should already have a mob farm. But if you've never been past the crucible before, then it's ok ;-) In order to build a mob farm, you'll need to have at least basic automated tasks going on. Mainly, a vine farm. Vine traps are a big deal for a mob farm and collecting ...

Installing Better Than Wolves on mac is trivially easy. Just like on windows, use MCPatcher HD to do it for you. (top of the load order)
