Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Hah! I WISHED it was the mob update. Not that we really need one, but I still wish there was some more SOMETHING in the ocean, but that's just me. Alright, so, do I: Switch to the 1.6 launcher, switch to MultiMC, switch to the Technic Launcher, or just leave my ass planted on the old launcher for n...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

You can also is simply forgo the lame ass mojang launcher and simply use the amazing MultiMC . Also at the risk of having my skin peeled off in tiny squares and having the exposed meat thoroughly salted, if you forget all the drama, the Technic launcher is.. well, it's not as good as MultiMC. But it...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Update: 1.6.1 has been released to the launcher. Woho! It’s time for a Minecraft 1.6 pre-release! This release is dubbed the “Horse Update”, but has a lot of other features, too. Also note, as already stated on this blog a couple of times, this update requires a new launcher. I hear the new launche...

No one had to ask, FC said he'd update, not add any new content though. It's why he's wrapping BTW up now

Re: Help with vine farms

I personally used a checkboard pattern to let the vines grow as fast as possible. The downside was that they got stuck on the blocks, a workaround would be to use more saws and put the vines on the block opposite, but... damn son, that's a lot of saws.

Re: musing on RTH

I've always figured that between Fc's musings on changing block as simple as dirt and his hints that mobs will become more dangerous, insinuates that in RTH we could expect mobs to be able to defeat different levels of building materials. In the case of dirt, which is often the first material of a ...

Re: Why would people want compatibility ?

Well, that's easy. Variety, mostly. I've been playing with a modpack for a little and it's horrendously broken, overpowered, overlapping, mismatched and just plain wrong. And surprisingly fun. There's a lot of emergent gameplay, despite the fact that most forge mods use single block machines. It's h...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of December 3rd)

There goes my ability to ever build vanilla-style again. While playing Thaumcraft 3 over the past week, I noticed I really, really, really miss the sidings and such and well, I suspect that feeling will only get worse once I've had a chance to play around with these item-combinations... Speaking of...

I'm personally surprised they're only doing it now.

Re: Pics of your Storage room!

HA. Everyone knows the diamonds are always behind the canvas. Quick question, how do you order the storing of materials in a storage room with so many chests? I mean, it must be pretty simple because you can remember it all. You're either a genius, spend half your time in that room sometimes forget...

I've built quite many storerooms in the past, but this one, despite all of its shortcomings, has to be my favorite. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u312/Vile-I-Am/Storeroom/2012-11-02_192619.png http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u312/Vile-I-Am/Storeroom/2012-11-02_192630.png http://i171.photobuc...

When Notch was questioned about Creepers, he replied: "I've imagined them as being crunchy, like dry leaves." Also, one of the let's reads around here has referred to them as "agents of the father tree". And that's how I was thinking about them since then. Like they're a self def...

Yeah, the second season of Death Note kinda went over the top, but I found it good regardless (loved the intro as well). Elfen lied can be described with two words: fan service. It's bloody and crazy and harem and whatnot and you might enjoy the first watch, but it'll suck bad on the second. I still...

Make sure to put it into a tunnel topped off with slabs, you don't want it to activate due to torchlight - and you don't want mobs running on top of it either.

Yeah, this is what I thought FC's going to implement ever since the HC beds change - when he mentioned that beds are going to be useful further down the tech tree.

Don't forget that blazes have a lot of melee damage, make sure you don't touch them when you're being all close and personal(+30% critical chance).

Re: Redstone: a quick reference quide

I've been experimenting with the piston and I don't see what it adds to the circuit. It seems that when the piston receives power, it extends, allowing the redstone torch to power the dust through the pushed block. When the piston stops receiving power, the block retracts and cuts power to the outp...

I use a BD instead of a piston in the first position(where the DB is detecting), this way I can hook a DB directly to it and the pistons as well without any extra redstone.

Lolz... IE it will break everything. :D
Not like it matters, FC is adding an integrity check in the next version (or so). And that practically means that if you overwrite any class FC touched at all, MC won't work.
